Girls Basketball

Girls basketball started in 1975 at Middle Park High School. In 1977, Coach Loftsgard began to coach the team. He was elected coach of the year for helping the team improve. In 1983 the team qualified for state and made it in the final 16. After Coach Loftsgard, there were many other coaches, each lasting only a couple to 3 years. Now currently coaching the team is Coach Amos, Coach House, and Coach Ruffin. Top Of Page

Nordic Skiing

Nordic skiing has been a major part of Middle Park athletics throughout the school's history. Middle Park has excelled in the sport and plans to do the same for quite some time. Top Of Page

Wrestling

Wrestling at Middle Park High School has evolved throughout the years. It first started in 1953 as an intramural league. During that year, there were only 16 people enrolled. Three years later, wrestling died but was later revived in 1963. After the wrestling program strengthened, they won state championships in 1970 and second place the year after. Then, after the turn of the new millennium, wrestling boomed. More than 20 players were enrolled in the sport, and they once again were victorious at the state championships in 2001. Top Of Page

Alpine Skiing

Middle Park Alpine Skiing has been a major part of Panther athletics since the early 1980's. Every year, the team has attended the state ski meet and placed among schools such as Battle Mountain and Summit. Practices take place under the lights Monday through Thursday at the Sol Vista ski resort in Granby. There, the team trains for the upcoming Friday races in either GS or Slalom disciplines.

The Panther girls team won their last state championship in 1995, and the boys team took home 1st in 1999. Top Of Page
