From the Principal's Pencil...

We’re off to a great start at MPHS! And while much progress has been made, we have much work to do as we go forward!

Starting with the district accountability committee’s work on open campus review and the review of district policies and procedures for discipline and code of conduct, these major undertakings are going to take time to research and to make thoughtful recommendations to the EGSD Board of Education for any changes or improvement. I would encourage each and every parent to get involved – either through participation on the District Accountability Committee (next meeting is October 28 – 6:30-8:00PM in the District Boardroom) or through participating in the MPHS Parent Advisory Committee meetings (next meeting is October 13 – 5:30-6:30PM in the High School Library). Either way, your input is vital to the improvement of our schools – and ultimately, to benefit your child(ren)!!

In large part, the very positive start of this school year can be credited to the teachers and staff who care so much about your children. It has been very refreshing to see the staff come together to work on taking MPHS from a good school to a great one! Their understanding of the great responsibility of educating the students of East Grand School District and their willingness to dig in and get dirty to improve our school has been motivating and inspiring!

Working together – parents, students, staff, administration, and community – we will achieve our goals! Thank you, parents, for your support and understanding during this time of change and growth. We appreciate your excellent turnout for Open House last week!
